Customized Fan Controllers
PCI’s family of customized embedded controllers
are designed to perform all of the controlling, monitoring, and
power conditioning functions associated with a fan tray. They
allow standard fans to be integrated into a fan tray component
that meets all of the customer’s requirements. A PCI controller
is typically used to provide input power filtering, power
distribution to fans, visual and electrical status/alarm
interface, air flow/temperature sensing, and system thermal
monitoring and control. An advanced, low cost RISC
micro-controller serves as the brains behind most of PCI’s
controllers.
The embedded micro-controller insures accurate and
repeatable performance over temperature, and removes variations
due to component tolerance. This greatly improves over all
reliability by ensuring that each system performs identically for
a variety of thermal conditions. Furthermore, a PCI fan tray
controller is designed to operate without the need for
re-calibration.
PCI offers a wide range of standard designs that
can be modified for form, fit, and function, allowing for short
lead times and low development costs. Production costs are also
typically lowered because the controllers have all the features
you want and none of the ones you don’t
